Mr. Pradeep Bagla

Managing Director

Mr. Pradeep Bagla is the visionary founder and Managing Director of Amrit Cement, with over 40 years of rich industry experience. As a first-generation entrepreneur, he has been the driving force behind the company’s remarkable journey—from its modest origins to becoming a prominent player in the cement industry.

Mr. Bagla holds a diverse academic background, having studied Milling Technology at ISMT, CFTRI, Mysore, and completed executive programs at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, and Texas A&M University, USA. His strong educational foundation complements his entrepreneurial instinct and strategic thinking.

Recognizing the growing demand for cement in India’s expanding infrastructure and construction sectors, Mr. Bagla took a bold step into the cement industry. Under his leadership, Amrit Cement has achieved major milestones, including the successful commissioning of its plant in record time. He remains actively involved in the company’s day-to-day operations, with a focus on business transformation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.

Beyond business, Mr. Bagla is deeply committed to social responsibility. He has played a pivotal role in fostering positive community relations and driving initiatives in education, health, and environmental sustainability across the regions where the company operates. His inclusive leadership has earned him a reputation as not just a business leader, but also a change-maker.

He currently serves as the Chairman of the CII North East Council and holds key positions such as Member of the CII Task Force on Ease of Doing Business and the CII National Committee on Skill Development & Livelihood. He is also part of the Executive Committee of the Calcutta Swimming Club.

Mr. Umang Bagla

Director

Mr. Umang Bagla joined Amrit Cement in 2014 with a clear vision to carry forward the legacy of his father, Mr. Pradeep Bagla, Managing Director of Amrit Cement. A postgraduate in Management of Family Business from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, he also holds a B.Com (Honours) degree from the University of Kolkata. His academic background, combining strategic business training with a solid foundation in commerce, equips him to lead with insight and innovation.

Since joining the company, Mr. Bagla has been instrumental in driving its digital transformation. He spearheaded the creation of the Data Management Department and led the digitalization of the sales force. With a strong belief in data-driven decision-making and a people-first approach, he views employees as the cornerstone of the organization’s success. His leadership continues to guide Amrit Cement toward operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth.

Mr. Sunil Kumar Khemka

Director

Mr. Sunil Kumar Khemka, a commerce graduate, has been an integral part of the cement industry since 1995. With deep insights into the Indian and Nepali markets, he brings invaluable experience to AmritCem.

Previously, he served as Managing Director of Nirman Cements Limited and held directorial roles at Butwal Cement Mills (P) Ltd. and Shree Maruti Cements Ltd. He is well-versed in setting up and operating cement plants and is recognized for his ability to commission plants within time and budget constraints.

Mr. Bhalang Singh Phanbuh

Director

Mr. Bhalang Singh Phanbuh belongs to a highly respected family in Meghalaya and continues a legacy of social contribution, with his mother being a Padma Shri awardee.

He is the founder of the Primary Progressive Multi-Purpose Co-Operative Society (MUCOOP), which received the ‘Excellence Award’ from the National Co-operative Development Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.

A visionary leader, Mr. Phanbuh brings passion, integrity, and a community-first approach to his work at AmritCem.

Mr. Bharat Kumar Seta

Independent Director

Mr. Bharat Kumar Seta is a seasoned professional with over 35 years of experience across top organizations such as Brooke Bond, the Champdany Group, and the Magma Group. He has served as both an Independent Director for listed companies and a practicing Chartered Accountant.

Currently, he is the Managing Partner at K. N. Gutgutia & Co., a prestigious CA firm established in 1949. A rank holder in both CA and CS exams, Mr. Seta specializes in business start-ups, M&A, corporate law, taxation, and due diligence. He has assisted in the incorporation of over 30 private companies for foreign clients from Korea, the UK, and Australia.
